About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 22 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. There are more than 180 Adventist churches in Michigan.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to live lives guided by the Words of Scripture, to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere and to tell people that Jesus loves them and is coming again soon.
Adventists believe that a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one unchanging, creator God. Not only did God create the earth through Jesus the Son, but He also made salvation possible when Jesus the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of every person in the world and arose from the dead on the third day, forgiveness for sin and reconciliation with God were made possible.
When Jesus returned to heaven following the resurrection, He left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He also promised to return to earth a second time to complete the eternal plan of salvation and take His people, believers in Him as God Son and Savior, to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.
Adventists also believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life here on earth, and that everything—the way we worship, live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan and is guided by His unchanging Word in Scripture.
Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him and we are stewards of those gifts for the blessing of humanity in His name.
It is our aim to live in accordance with these high and holy principles and to trust Jesus for His aid in restoring us to His image.
Everyone is welcome at the Livingston Seventh-day Adventist church, we look forward to seeing you as we worship our creator together on His holy Sabbath day.
